COVID-19’un Vücut Ağırlığı Üzerine Etkisi

Year 2022, Volume: 3 Issue: 1, 42 - 53, 30.04.2022

Abstract

Yeni Koronavirüs vakası ilk olarak 2019 yılının Aralık ayında Çin’in Wuhan şehrinden bildirilmiştir.

The first case of the new coronavirus was first appeared in December 2019 in Wuhan, China. It has been named as SARS-CoV-2 (severe acuterespiratory syndrome coronavirus 2) and COVID-19. This unexpected disease which affected the entire world was accepted as a pandemic. The World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 as a pandemic on March 11, 2020 and made an international call after wards. The first case in Turkey showed up on this date also. Because of COVID-19 measures, the long quarantines that last for days and weeks caused a sedentary life for people. The increased food consumption and decreased physical activities caused a quick increase of body weight gain. This study investigates the effect of the pandemic on body weight in crease and examines the relation between COVID-19 and obesity.
