21. Yüzyıl Kütüphane Binalarının Mimari Tasarım Kriterleri Doğrultusunda Analizi

Abstract

Araştırma, çalışma ve arşiv amaçlı kullanılan kütüphane binaları, günümüzde “öğrenme merkezi” olarak büyük programlı yapılara dönüşmüştür. Bu dönüşüm kütüphane mekânlarının, kullanıcılarına kaliteli hizmet vermesi için güncel gereksinim ve anlayışların tasarıma yansıması gerekliliğini beraberinde getirmiştir. 21. yüzyıl kütüphane binalarında i. bina- çevre ilişkisi, ii. plan kurgusu, iii. yatay-düşey sirkülasyon, iv. eylem alanları, v. raf düzeni ve vi. aydınlatma kararları tasarım niteliği açısından önem taşımaktadır. Söz konusu başlıklar, 21. yüzyılda tasarlanmış kütüphane binalarının analiz başlıkları olarak belirlenmiş ve dünyadan/ülkemizden seçilen toplam dört kütüphane binasının tasarım anlayışlarını ortaya koymak amaçlanmıştır. İncelenen örnekler doğrultusunda, 21. yüzyıl kütüphane binaları tasarımına ilişkin olarak esnek plan kurgusu içerisinde özellikle eylem alanları mekân düzeninin her kütüphane yapısında ve her katta farklı şekilde tekrar ettiği, teknolojik-dijital materyallerin çeşitliliği ile farklı işlevlerin olduğu; sirkülasyon alanlarının, raf düzeninin ve gün ışığının mekânı algılamada, yönlendirmede ve biçimlendirmede aktif rol oynadığı sonuçları elde edilmiştir.

Bu makale Necmettin Erbakan Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü Mimarlık Ana Bilim Dalı’nda tamamlanan ve “21. yüzyıl Kütüphane Binalarının Mimari Özelliklerinin İncelenmesi” adlı Yüksek Lisans tezinden üretilmiştir. “Ziraat Bankası Kütüphanesi” örneği için çizim ve belgeler Otman Tasarım Mimarlık ofisinden temin edilmiştir. Proje müellifi çalışma kapsamında ilgili görsellerin kullanımına izin vermiştir. Makalede ulusal ve uluslararası araştırma ve yayın etiğine uyulmuştur. Çalışmada etik kurul izni gerekmemiştir.

The Analysis of 21st Century Library Buildings Based on Architectural Design Criteria

Abstract

Library buildings, used for research, study, and archive purposes, have turned into large, programmed structures as "learning centers" today. This transformation has brought with it the necessity of reflecting the current needs and horizons to the design in order for the library spaces to provide quality service to their users. In 21st century library buildings i. building-environment relationship, ii. plan setup, iii. horizontal-vertical circulation, iv. action areas, v. shelving, and vi. lighting decisions are important in terms of design quality. These titles were determined as the analysis titles of the library buildings designed in the 21st century and it was aimed to reveal the design concepts of four library buildings selected from the world/country. In line with the examples examined, it has been found that the spatial arrangement of the action areas, in particular, in the flexible plan setup for the 21st century library buildings design, repeats differently in each library structure and on each floor, there are different functions with the diversity of technological-digital materials; it has been obtained that the shelf arrangement of circulation areas and daylight play an active role in perceiving, directing, and shaping the space.
